A man married a beautiful girl.
一个男人娶了一个漂亮女孩。
He loved her very much.
他非常爱她。
One day she developed a skin disease.
突然她得了一种皮肤病。
Slowly she started to lose her beauty.
慢慢地开始失去美貌。
It so happened that one day her husband left for a tour.
碰巧有一天她丈夫去旅行。
While returning he met with a car accident and lost his eyesight.
回来的路上他遭遇车祸失明了。
However their married life continued as usual.
然而他们的婚姻生活照旧。
But as days passed she lost her beauty gradually.
但随着时间的流逝她越来越丑。
Blind husband did not know this and there was not any difference in their married life.
失明的丈夫并不知情，他们的婚姻也没有任何变化。
He continued to love her and she also loved him very much.
他依然爱她，她也非常爱他。
One day she died. Her death brought him great sorrow.
一天她还是离开了，她的离世带给他很大伤痛。
He finished all her last rites and wanted to leave that town.
他处理好一切后事，想要离开那个城镇。
A man from behind called and said,
后面有人叫住他说：
"Now how will you be able to walk all alone? All these days your wife used to help you."
“现在你自己怎么过？以往都是妻子照顾你的。”
He replied, "I am not blind."
他回答说：“我没有失明。”
"I was acting, because if she knew l could see her ugliness, it would have pained her more than her disease."
“我是装的，因为如果她知道我能看到她的丑，这给她带来的痛苦，会比疾病本身更让她难以承受。”
"So I pretended to be blind. She was a very good wife. I only wanted to keep her happy."
“所以我假装失明，她是个好妻子，我只想让她开心。”
Some times it is good for us to act blind and ignore one another's shortcomings, in order to be happy.
有时为了开心，我们假装看不见别人的短处也挺好。
No matter how many times the teeth bite the tongue, they'll stay together in one mouth.
无论牙齿咬了舌头多少次，它们依然待在一张嘴里。
That's the spirit of FOREVERNESS.
这就是“天长地久”的真正含义。
