During the entire swim even well below the surface
游动虽然是在水面下进行
there is some light that comes through

It is comforting to know that there is open water above you

But as you approach the ship, which is tied to a pier, the light begins to fade

The steel structure of the ship blocks the moonlight

it blocks the surrounding street lamps

it blocks all ambient light

To be successful in your mission, you have to swim under the ship and find the keel
要成功完成任务 你需要游到船底 找到龙骨
the centerline and the deepest part of the ship
也就是船下最深的那条中央线
This is your objective
这是你的目标
But the keel is also the darkest part of the ship
当然 龙骨也是船上最暗的部分
where you cannot see your hand in front of your face

where the noise from the ship's machinery is deafening
同时 船的轰鸣声震耳欲聋
and where it is easy to get disoriented and you can fail

Every SEAL knows that under the keel

at the darkest moment of the mission

is the time when you must be calm, when you must be composed

when all your tactical skills

The ninth week of training is referred to as "Hell Week"

人物简介
威廉·麦克雷文，1977年加入海豹突击队，四星级上将，曾指挥猎杀伊拉克高级将领和击毙本拉登行动，2011年8月，就任美国特种作战司令部总司令。麦克雷文是德克萨斯大学的校友，此番重回校园发表毕业典礼演讲，他将自己最初在海豹突击队训练时的经历分享给毕业生，并从中抽出哲理，作为对毕业生的建议。
